Lydia's NICU Grad Session

Please enjoy Preemie Prints' families’ inspirational story & photos.

Consider supporting our mission to share hope with families who have a baby born prematurely or critically ill. We thank our supporters, Preemie Prints volunteers, and donors for allowing us to continue touching the lives of NICU, preemie, and angel families.

We pray these special memories from Preemie Prints will help families heal and remember how strong they were in overcoming their NICU journey together.

Lydia's photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Jennifer Sternal-Johnson.

A Note From Jen:

It was such a joy to meet Lydia and her family. She was born at 32 weeks and is thriving now!

Preemie Prints is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sharing hope with NICU families through a variety of support programs. One of those programs is the gift of NICU photography and preemie photography. NICU families from across the US can request a no-charge photography session by a Preemie Prints volunteer. The family request form can be found on the right side of our website. These sessions are free of charge and for any NICU family, regardless of time spent in the NICU. The NICU photo shoot can take place inside the NICU or after baby is discharged and at home until their 1st birthday. Facing time in a NICU with a premature or critically ill baby is an extremely difficult time for families. Preemie Prints has a mission to share hope by letting families know they are not alone. Preemie Prints currently has over 100 volunteers nationwide. We are always looking for more volunteers to share in our mission! If you are interested, please email sherri@preemieprints.org and visit our website at www.preemieprints.org. To date Preemie Prints and our volunteers have gifted over 1000 NICU family sessions.

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM KENZIE AND SAVANNAH'S FAMILY
Savannah Rose and Kenzie Hope were born February 10th, 2017, at 30 weeks and 3 days. At 16 weeks of pregnancy we were diagnosed with TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). At 19 weeks my boyfriend and I traveled to Philadelphia Children's hospital where I had laser surgery to save their lives. It worked!!!! Both girls are currently at Strong Memorial and doing well. They are breathing on their own and doing great with feedings. We are extremely blessed!

Kenzie and Savannah's photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Jennifer Sternal-Johnson.

A Note From Jen:
Kenzie and Savannah are identical twins who had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome in the womb and had corrective surgery at 19 weeks. They were born at 30 weeks and at 9 days old, were already off oxygen and doing great! Can't wait til they are home with Emily and David and their big siblings!

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM ANDREW'S FAMILY
Andrew was born at 29 weeks and 3 days via emergency c-section. This early delivery was due to his mom developing severe atypical preeclampsia. Although Andrew was small he was very healthy and due to steroid shots was able to breathe on his own right from the beginning. Andrew is now 3 weeks old and working up on his feedings and figuring out how to digest his milk. He will be in the NICU for several more weeks as he gains weight and learns to regulate his body temp and eat by mouth.

Andrew's photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Jennifer Sternal-Johnson.

A Note From Jen:
Andrew was born at 29 weeks, and I was lucky enough to meet him on Valentine's Day! He is a month old now, and growing and gaining like a little star. Hoping he can go home soon!

More Info
Preemie Prints is holding a drive for our NICU gift bags. We would like to collect at least 500 individual items during the month of August-September.

NICU families face a difficult journey when their baby is born early or with serious health concerns. One of our missions is to share hope through the distribution of gift bags while families are in the NICU!

As of now we have been able to provide gift bags to families in the Brazos Valley, Houston, and Temple areas. We would like to continue our mission of delivering these gift bags in person and expand their distribution to our online private national NICU family group members!

Anytime we have a current NICU family in our group we would like to send them a wonderful care package to bring a smile to their face and give a little comfort during this scary time.

We cannot expand this part of mission without donations from our preemie community, family, and friends. So we ask that you donate at least 1 item or make a monetary donation of $2 so that we can donate 1 item in your name! On behalf of NICU families across the US thank you so much for being a part of Preemie Prints!

What are examples of items that may be in a NICU gift bag?
Information and books on premature babies and life in a NICU
Brand new or handmade (new please) preemie clothes
Preemie hats
