A note from Mom:

“Being pregnant with twins was VERY different than being pregnant with one. I was on bed rest starting at only 12 weeks, and we had an extremely long journey. Every day counted! But, thankfully, Evelyn and Norah came at 35 weeks and spent just 2 weeks in the NICU. It was difficult, especially having a 1 year old and 4 year old at home!"

"Meet Norah and Evelyn Oldham! Mom Jenny was on bedrest with these 2 from week 12 until their birth at week 35. They then spent 2 weeks at the NICU but now at 1 year, they are happy healthy and active! These beautiful NICU grads are a great success story and now keep Brother Harrison and Sister Stella on their toes. I was able to photograph this family in their beautiful Bellville home and we got some amazing stuff!"

 Little Monster's 5K For A Cause

Keaton James Musgrove was born 4/25/02 at 24 wks due to mom developing

preeclampsia. He weighed 9oz and was 8.5in. He fought for almost 2hrs

before he became our angel.


10yrs later we found ourselves pregnant

with Keaton's brother. Kashton Michael Musgrove was born at 31wks for

the same reason. He weighed 2lbs 13oz and was 14.5in. He spent his

first 30 days of life in the NICU and was sent home as soon as he hit

4lbs. Kash is still going strong and now at the age of 17mos weights

19.5lbs, is perfectly healthy, and his development is above what he

A note from Mom:

“Our NICU journey I would have to say would be the most difficult things I have ever experienced.. I delivered at 25 weeks 5 days due to seizures from having a typical eclampsia and was getting to much toxins from having so many placentas. I didn't get to see the babies till 24 hours after I delivered since I had to be on magnesium to make sure I would go into another seizure. I remember first seeing them all I could do was cry its was so heartbreaking to see such tiny little babies behind a glass and not even be able to touch them. Earlier that Sat morning a doctor from the NICU came into our hospital room and told us that we needed to come since Lily Rae was having trouble bleeding. They tried to bring her too but she was starting to hemorrhage in her brain and lungs. About a hour later I held our Baby Girl B and watch her take her last breath. Losing her scared us so much we were afraid what might happen to our other babies. Its was hard to grieve and also be strong for the rest of the precious babies we had.. During the course of our stay with the boys we battled pneumonia and infections. One also had trouble retaining water.. On memorial day we were finally able to bring home John and William (with a monitor and oxygen). Colton had trouble feeding due to extreme reflux and tongue trimmer, but we finally got him home 3 weeks later. Just this past Thursday 9/5/13 we was able to bring our other baby girl Ryleigh home.. At 2 weeks old she had NEC and a 3rd of her small intestines and her main valve to her intestines had to be removed. She had a colostomy page till she hit 4 lbs so she could get her reinastamosis. After she was reconnected she battle MRSA and also had Osteopenia due to being on TPN for so long. After finally recovering from that she started having trouble digesting certain formula and we found out, that due to the short gut syndrome she had trouble absorbing fats. On 8/29 she had her gtube placed and was able to come home.”

Piper tried coming at 23 weeks but Mom was able to stop labor till 30 weeks and 5 days. Piper graced the world on May 21. We were so scared about what the future held. She went home from Children's Memorial Hermann Medical Center on July 3, 2013. She is our miracle child and everyday we walk for her!!

Sweet Kannon's NICU Grad Photo Shoot

A note from Mom:

"Our son's name is Kannon Daniel Hill. He was born on Wednesday, June 26,2013 at 28 weeks. He weighed 2 lb 14 oz and was 15 1/2 inches long. My husband, Joseph, received a phone call on the Friday after Kannon's birth about him and ask us to pray about adopting him. We had just started the adoption process and both thought adopting a child would be at least a year away. We knew Kannon was part of God's plan for us. We met Kannon and his birth mom on Saturday and Kannon became our son on Tuesday, July 2^nd

From the beginning we were told that Kannon would most likely be in the NICU for around 12 weeks. We knew that this would not be an easy journey, but since we had 4 days notice that we were becoming parents the time in the NICU helped us have time to prepare. We visited Kannon everyday and most days he improved faster that anyone expected. When Kannon was 2 months old he became sick, he began to have issues keeping any amount to his feedings down. The next week was spent trying to determine what was wrong and how to keep Kannon from spitting everything. By the weekend the doctors thought that Kannon had Pyloric Stenosis and would need surgery to correct the issue. We were transferred to Dell Children's on Labor Day and Kannon had surgery the next day. After Kannon recovered we were discharged to come home on Friday, September 13th. At discharge Kannon was over double his birth weight at 6 lb 3 oz and is a healthy baby. We have been at home for a little over a week and are doing great. This whole journey has taught us about the power of prayer and seeking God's plan for our lives."

"Kannon's newborn session went well. He was a good sleeper, but difficult to pose. His belly was bothering him, so I had to cut the session short. I got 6 good pictures though!

Houston Preemie Miracle

Brylee Nikole was born on 2/6/2013 weighing 1 lb 14 ozs, 25 weeker she was delievered via C-Section due to serve preclampsia & placenta previa. Brylee come out crying and kicking one little fiesty girl. Per protocol the doctors put her on cpap due to her gestational age. The doctors stated that I had one fiesty preemie on my hands. As Brylee laid in the incubator the first three days of life she took off the Cpap with her feet. And the temperature probe she pulled off. Setting every alarm in her bed. The doctors said well our goal is to have her home at her Expected due date. Then on 2/17/2013 I lost my mother to kidney failure. And her viewing was on 2/19/2013 in NC. However due to my complications my doctor wouldnt release me. And my 2 week checkup was Feb. 19th. As I set in NICU kangaroo holding my daughter I noticed that her stomach was hard and when I                                                                       burped her a weird smell. And she begin to cry uncontrollable. 

The nurse had told me "Oh she is just gasy." I went to the Charge Nurse and let them know I had my two week check up and something is wrong with my daughter. I would be back and someone needs to tell me what was wrong. So I left and went for my checkup and when I came back they had done a xray, mri, catscan & drawn all kinds of blood to find out that there was an infection in her intestines. Within an hour of me returning Brylee went limp and unresponsive. So, they did emergency bedside surgery inserting a drain tube in her stomach. Later that evening her stomach continued to get big. That is when they took her down to the OR and ended up removing 20 cm of intestine that was infected and deased. On 2/21/2013 her stomach continued to be decended and they went back in removed 5 cm more; 2/24/2013 another 5 cm, 2/25/2013 they inserted a woundvac and opened her ostomy leaving her remaining intestines unlinked. For the rest of Febuary through March 2nd they continued going into her wound to inject it with antibiotics and cleaning the woundvac. Then on August 26th they went back in to link the remaining intestines a 2-4 hour surgery that took 9 hours to find out the the stoma was dead, part of the remaining intestine fused into her right ovary causing her to lose her right ovary. They continued fourth with her surgery and upon finishing the surgery, inserted her Gtube, she was left with only 8cm of intestines. They diagonised her with short gut syndrome. They are keeping her on TPN & Lipids to grow and put her on the list for an Intestinal Tranaplant. However, the transplant will not take place in Houston but in PA. The doctors are now trying to aleast start feeding to see if the remaining bowel is functional. If it is a little functional that will buy time until the transplant because too much TPN can affect the liver. Now, with everything that is going on little Brylee has never been out of NICU since birth and she is now 8 months old on the 6th. And we don't see a date anytime soon of coming home. Once we get to PA we will be there also for 4-6 months to make sure the transplant takes and is functional.
