Baby Jake's Preemie Prints NICU Grad Photo Shoot

Please enjoy Preemie Prints' families inspirational story & photos. Consider supporting our mission to share hope with families who have a baby born prematurely or critically ill. We thank our supporters, Preemie Prints volunteers, and donors for allowing us to continue touching the lives of NICU, preemie, and angel families.

We pray these special memories from Preemie Prints
will help families heal and remember how strong
they were in overcoming their NICU journey together.

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM MOM
"My son's name is Jake Casey. He was born 3/25/14 on a Tuesday at 2:48PM and was 8lbs 10ozs. He was born in the SDU at CHOP. Jake was born with Spina Bifida and fluid on the brain. He had his back repaired the day after birth and a VP shunt plance 2 days later. He was in the NICU a week and a half and discharged. We had to catherize him and were sent home with an NG tube. He was home for a week and was admitted to Staten Island Hospital and vented to 7 days. Jake had aspirated and got pnumonia. He was transferred back to CHOP in the NICU where they tapped his shunt to test for infection. He was put on oxygen. My fiance and I opted to have a Gtub and nissen surgery, because we wanted Jake to be safe while trying to feed. While under for that surgery they found his bocal cords were completely closed. We were faced with another surgery for his Chiari Malformation. If we didn't do the surgery Jake would die. He is still int he hospital and jake is vented again hoping to come of it soon. He is doing well."

UPDATE: Jake is home now and doing well. :)

A note from Senshi-
"Upon meeting this family, you cannot help but smile. They are such happy people and their boys are adorable! Photographing them was such a pleasure. They had easy smiles and so much love to pour into their shots. I truly enjoyed getting to know Melissa better and was grateful to her for sharing baby Jake's story. This little boy is in great hands with such wonderful loving parents- even his brother Jack who is two is gentle with baby Jake! I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I do!"

Preemie Prints is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sharing hope with NICU families through a variety of support programs. One of those programs is the gift of NICU photography and preemie photography. NICU families from across the US can request a no-charge photography session by a Preemie Prints volunteer. The family request from can be found on the right side of our website. These sessions are free of charge and for any NICU family, regardless of time spent in the NICU. The NICU photo shoot can take place inside the NICU or after baby is discharged and at home until their 1st birthday. Facing time in a NICU with a premature or critically ill baby is an extremely difficult time for families. Preemie Prints has a mission to share hope by letting families know they are not alone. Preemie Prints currently has over 100 volunteers nationwide. We are always looking for more volunteers to share in our mission! If you are interested, please email sherri@preemieprints.org and visit our website at www.preemieprints.org. To date Preemie Prints and our volunteers have gifted over 400 NICU family sessions.

We're thankful to the family for sharing their story & memories in support of other NICU families.
