Triplet NICU Grad Session: Kurt, Mads, and Wolfe

Please enjoy Preemie Prints' families’ inspirational story & photos.
Consider supporting our mission to share hope with families who have a baby born prematurely or critically ill. We thank our supporters, Preemie Prints volunteers, and donors for allowing us to continue touching the lives of NICU, preemie, and angel families.
We pray these special memories from Preemie Prints
will help families heal and remember how strong
they were in overcoming their NICU journey together.

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM KURT, MADS, AND WOLFE'S FAMILY
I went into labor unexpectedly at 29w4d. I had been admitted in the afternoon after an ultrasound showed baby b and c were measuring small. After NST and another ultrasound, plus a shot of steroids they put me to bed. An hour later my water broke and I was 4 cm dilated. Babies A, B, and C were born at 2:52, 2:56, and 2:59 at 3lbs1oz, 2lbs 4oz, and 1lb 13oz. We named them Mads, Wolfe, and Kurt. Our incredible sons. There were a few snags along the way, but we were blessed to have a long, but uneventful stay. We outgrew Bradys and desats, and residuals, our total fluids were satisfactory and feeds were tolerated, we gained and grew and maintained our temperature and breathed room air and terrorized our nurses with reflux, and would never have learned take a bottle if not for ot. Our tubes and monitors disappeared one by one and we marveled each time we saw our children's faces without tapes, cannulas, or ng tubes. Now we have three robust, happy, gorgeous baby boys at home and I am thankful every single day. I would never wish the nicu upon anyone, but if you need it your life will never be the same.

Mads, Kurt, and Wolfe's photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Jennifer Sternal-Johnson.

A Note From Jen:
Triplets! I have to say, this was one of the most chaotic photo sessions I've done-- but so fun! Chrissy and Mike were so calm, it was amazing. Kurt, Wolfe, and Mads were born at 29 weeks and have had a tough run, with multiple surgeries and setbacks. Hoping things settle out now that they are 9 months old.

and organization --  please do not use for any purpose.

Preemie Prints is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sharing hope with NICU families through a variety of support programs. One of those programs is the gift of NICU photography and preemie photography. NICU families from across the US can request a no-charge photography session by a Preemie Prints volunteer. The family request form can be found on the right side of our website. These sessions are free of charge and for any NICU family, regardless of time spent in the NICU. The NICU photo shoot can take place inside the NICU or after baby is discharged and at home until their 1st birthday. Facing time in a NICU with a premature or critically ill baby is an extremely difficult time for families. Preemie Prints has a mission to share hope by letting families know they are not alone. Preemie Prints currently has over 100 volunteers nationwide. We are always looking for more volunteers to share in our mission! If you are interested, please email sherri@preemieprints.org and visit our website at www.preemieprints.org. To date Preemie Prints and our volunteers have gifted over 1000 NICU family sessions.
This was a Preemie Prints NICU graduate photography session that took place near Rochester NY.
We're thankful to the family for sharing their story & memories in support of other NICU families.
