A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM MOM
“Charlie is a treasure and a champion. He was a long time in the making and had quite a journey to get here. At 16 weeks, Charlie was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. At 31 weeks, my waters broke early, but we managed to hang in there together in the hospital for 2 whole weeks before welcoming Charlie on January 27, 2015 at 6:13 am. Charlie was 5 lbs 5 oz and 18 inches long. But Charlie is more than a NICU story....he's a guy with hands cuddled by his face that enjoys upbeat music. He's a fan of being bundled snuggly and having his fluffy cloud-like hair brushed. He is wonderfully made, and we can't wait to capture magical moments of him!

Everywhere we look there are treasures to be found- hugs from one parent to another, a nurse humming to a baby, doctors taking extraordinary time and care in treating our children. It's the NICU, and it's our temporary home. As my son and I listen to, "Home" by Phillip Phillips, we know that our home is wherever together happens to be. We know that a couple of months in the hospital is nothing in the big scheme. We know that without the rain, there'd only be deserts. So, we stay upbeat, and we call on our faith, family and friends to help us take it one moment at a time.”

A Note From Savannah:
"I was absolutely in love with sweet Charlie! Such a cutie! He slept for almost the whole session and even smiled a few times! I can tell he loves to hear his mommy and Daddy talk to him. Was such a great family with lots of love!"

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM MOM
“My son Levi was born 8/17/14 at 28 weeks. He weighed 2 lbs 14.9 oz. He is such a sweet baby and has been fighting from the beginning. He is my super hero.

When my son was born I felt an extreme disconnect; that wasn’t my son. My son was suppose to be healthy and inside me. Instead I was looking at this foreign being with tubes coming from every part of him. I was mad, confused, and numb. It’s okay to be mad. This isn’t fair. You didn’t get the typical labor experience. But I can promise any NICU family this - As you watch your baby grow and grow there is no way anyway can deny that there is a God. You see your baby struggle and conquer and he/she builds you. Your baby will make you wanna be strong. You will get through this. And you will be a stronger person because of it.”

A Note From Christina:

“Baby Levi's photo shoot went really well! The parents had a really good idea of what they wanted, and Levi was such a champ! It took about an hour and 15 minutes to take all the pictures that I wanted and that the parents wanted but I am very happy with the results.  I had such a tough time picking my favorite 5 for the sneak peaks.”
