Please enjoy Preemie Prints' families’ inspirational story & photos.
Consider supporting our mission to share hope with families who have a baby born prematurely or critically ill. We thank our supporters, Preemie Prints volunteers, and donors for allowing us to continue touching the lives of NICU, preemie, and angel families.
We pray these special memories from Preemie Prints
will help families heal and remember how strong
they were in overcoming their NICU journey together.
A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM MOM
“Carter was born at 26 weeks
weighing 1.5 pounds. We were thrown into a world of monitors, doctors, nurses,
medicine, IVs, ventilators, isolettes, and a million other things we never
expected (or wanted) to experience. My
son was in the hospital for 5 months and it was by far the longest time of our
lives. It's such a stressful time and
the day we left the hospital with our son was the happiest day of our
lives. I remember being in the NICU sitting
next to my son and thinking our day would never come. We spent birthdays,
anniversary, thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years with our son in the
NICU. Finally, after 5 months we left,
but it wasn't smooth sailing yet. Our
son came home on oxygen and with a G-tube, and although it's still a lot of
work and stress, we are thankful everyday that he is home with us. Just know that this time really does end soon;
your baby will be with you at home. In
the meantime, just try and soak up as much information as possible and stay
positive!"
"It's been an incredibly long
and stressful journey, and I know we still have a long way to go, but we feel
so blessed and happy that he's with us today!”
Carter’s photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Ryan Ward.
A Note From Ryan
Morgan, her husband Ryan, and precious son Carter were such a joy to
meet and photograph. I also was fortunate to meet Morgan’s parents who have
been a true support and blessing to Morgan and Ryan in their journey with
Carter. This was truly such a loving family who you could tell took such joy
from being together and all love Carter fiercely.”
