Kenzie and Savannah's NICU Photo Session

Please enjoy Preemie Prints' families’ inspirational story & photos.
Consider supporting our mission to share hope with families who have a baby born prematurely or critically ill. We thank our supporters, Preemie Prints volunteers, and donors for allowing us to continue touching the lives of NICU, preemie, and angel families.
We pray these special memories from Preemie Prints
will help families heal and remember how strong
they were in overcoming their NICU journey together.

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM KENZIE AND SAVANNAH'S FAMILY
Savannah Rose and Kenzie Hope were born February 10th, 2017, at 30 weeks and 3 days. At 16 weeks of pregnancy we were diagnosed with TTTS (Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome). At 19 weeks my boyfriend and I traveled to Philadelphia Children's hospital where I had laser surgery to save their lives. It worked!!!! Both girls are currently at Strong Memorial and doing well. They are breathing on their own and doing great with feedings. We are extremely blessed!

Kenzie and Savannah's photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Jennifer Sternal-Johnson.

A Note From Jen:
Kenzie and Savannah are identical twins who had twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome in the womb and had corrective surgery at 19 weeks. They were born at 30 weeks and at 9 days old, were already off oxygen and doing great! Can't wait til they are home with Emily and David and their big siblings!

Preemie Prints is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sharing hope with NICU families through a variety of support programs. One of those programs is the gift of NICU photography and preemie photography. NICU families from across the US can request a no-charge photography session by a Preemie Prints volunteer. The family request form can be found on the right side of our website. These sessions are free of charge and for any NICU family, regardless of time spent in the NICU. The NICU photo shoot can take place inside the NICU or after baby is discharged and at home until their 1st birthday. Facing time in a NICU with a premature or critically ill baby is an extremely difficult time for families. Preemie Prints has a mission to share hope by letting families know they are not alone. Preemie Prints currently has over 100 volunteers nationwide. We are always looking for more volunteers to share in our mission! If you are interested, please email sherri@preemieprints.org and visit our website at www.preemieprints.org. To date Preemie Prints and our volunteers have gifted over 1000 NICU family sessions.

A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM ANDREW'S FAMILY
Andrew was born at 29 weeks and 3 days via emergency c-section. This early delivery was due to his mom developing severe atypical preeclampsia. Although Andrew was small he was very healthy and due to steroid shots was able to breathe on his own right from the beginning. Andrew is now 3 weeks old and working up on his feedings and figuring out how to digest his milk. He will be in the NICU for several more weeks as he gains weight and learns to regulate his body temp and eat by mouth.

Andrew's photo session was taken and donated by Preemie Prints volunteer photographer, Jennifer Sternal-Johnson.

A Note From Jen:
Andrew was born at 29 weeks, and I was lucky enough to meet him on Valentine's Day! He is a month old now, and growing and gaining like a little star. Hoping he can go home soon!

Expanding!! A Preemie Prints Sew & Craft in Edna, Tx

We are so excited and thankful for a wonderful group of ladies who came together in Edna, Tx to sew & craft for  Preemie Prints. They supported our mission by helping to sew NICU positioners. These "snakes", as many parents and nurses refer to them, help to keep a baby warm & cozy. They help NICU staff to create a womb-like environment and they help to position the baby properly. They also aid in wire placement. They are really helpful and probably one of the programs our partner hospitals are most thankful for.

This group had a wonderful time, and they hope to become an official Preemie Prints chapter. If they decide to do this, we will be adding on the Victoria, Tx NICUs as official donation recipients. At their next meeting they will be working on the Preemie Prints giraffes and creating bundles to give to NICU families.

To form a chapter, it takes commitment and love for NICU babies and their families; we're excited to have the support of this wonderful group of ladies!

Bryan College Station NICU Support and Sewing Meeting

This Thursday, April 3rd, from 6:15 - 8:00 pm please join us at The College Station Medical Center for our monthly local Preemie Prints Sew & Craft Meeting! We will be working on our NICU positioning devices, stuffing and hand sewing lots of keepsake giraffes, sewing burp cloths, preemie outfits, and cuddlers. Although the main focus of these meetings is sewing & crafting, many of us are past NICU moms, so we're available to visit with current NICU moms and dads of College Station to offer support. Regardless of what NICU your child is in please know that you are invited to attend our NICU sewing support meeting. Many parents work on scrapbooks and baby books during their baby's NICU stay and our local sew & craft meetings are a wonderful place to do things like that and visit about your baby's NICU journey with other moms who have been there.

Each month our sewing meeting rotates to a different hospital. Next month our NICU sewing meeting will be in Bryan, TX at St. Joseph's Regional Health Center. The following month we will be at Scott & White in College Station. It's always the 1st Thursday of the month from 6:15-8pm. We hope to see you at an upcoming Preemie Prints Sew & Craft Meeting.

Our meetings always end with our donation drop off for that month! Everyone in attendance is invited to walk down to the NICU and be a part of the donation drop off. Looking forward to dropping off our Preemie Prints donation to The College Station Medical Center NICU this Thursday.
