A NICU STORY | THOUGHTS FROM MOM

“My son Zane Everett was born on November 3, 2014 at 25 weeks gestation, weighing only 1lb 8oz and has had several complications, the major of which is a grade IV brain hemorrhage on the left side and a grade I on the right. The doctors suggested that we terminate or switch to "comfort care". After many long sleepless nights and days of mourning we came to the ultimate realization that no matter what happens, God had given us this child and there is a greater purpose and bigger story to his life than what we could ever see. My husband and I believe in miracles and we continue to pray daily for the miracle and healing on our precious boy that we know is possible. His story has spanned the country and inspired many to beseech God for healing for our son which we are most grateful.

As of mid January, he weighed 4lbs 7oz! He has made some incredible progress and has been truly brave and strong. I am so proud of him! God is with us!”

A Note From Judy:
“Zane was born weighing only 1 lb 8 oz and had several complications at birth, the major of which was a brain hemorrhage.  This sweet little guy has been through a lot, but God has been faithful in his life and it was amazing to watch him get around so well.  He is energetic, playful, friendly, and quite curious.  His family lavishes him with love, and that makes for a happy baby.  I was truly honored to be able to photograph him.  He is such a good baby.”

Preemie Prints is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization sharing hope with NICU families through a variety of support programs. One of those programs is the gift of NICU photography and preemie photography. NICU families from across the US can request a no-charge photography session by a Preemie Prints volunteer. The family request from can be found on the right side of our website. These sessions are free of charge and for any NICU family, regardless of time spent in the NICU. The NICU photo shoot can take place inside the NICU or after baby is discharged and at home until their 1st birthday. Facing time in a NICU with a premature or critically ill baby is an extremely difficult time for families. Preemie Prints has a mission to share hope by letting families know they are not alone. Preemie Prints currently has over 100 volunteers nationwide. We are always looking for more volunteers to share in our mission!
